El Salvador - Day 2 (Connecting with Friends)

Today we spent the afternoon in fellowship with the people of the Good Samaritan Church and Pastor Miguel's team.  It was great to connect with old friends and introduce our new team members.  As you can see from our photo, this years theme of friendship is in full swing! 

Debbie Collette did a fantastic job at sharing how God has created us to be friends built around Ecclesiastes 4:7-12.  Several team members notices the remarkable difference in the respect being given to women in the church so having Debbie preach today was a wonderful example of unity in the body of Christ. 

Tomorrow the specific ministries will start their projects so there is a sense of great anticipation tonight.  The youth team met late into the night to prepare.  They are taking the responsibility of training the kids very seriously and will walk it out with great joy I'm sure.  The announcement of the Dentistry coming back again was met with applause in church today so pray that Dr. Borgman will do some great work!  The work crew is prepare to go out and dig some very deep holes but in the process are expecting to make some intentional friendships too.  Lastly, the womens team is excited to start spending some time in their small group for the week with the local ladies.

Please be praying for us that we communicate the love of Jesus Christ through both our friendships with each other as well as with the local people.
